Erythromycin
Dr. Abelardo Aguilar. In 1949, via soil samples he obtained from his backyard, Dr. Aguilar stumbled upon ๐๐ต๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฑ๐ต๐ฐ๐ฎ๐บ๐ค๐ฆ๐ด ๐ฆ๐ณ๐บ๐ต๐ฉ๐ณ๐ข๐ฆ๐ถ๐ด (now ๐๐ข๐ค๐ค๐ฉ๐ข๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ญ๐บ๐ด๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ข ๐ฆ๐ณ๐บ๐ต๐ฉ๐ณ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข), the bacteria that would lead to the discovery of erythromycin. Erythromycin is an antibiotic used in treating infections of the respiratory tract, Legionnaireโs disease, and diphtheria, as well as urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted diseases such as syphilis.
